Design starts with the discovery of essence: the pattern of light and dark in flight feathers, the flow of water through gills, the angle of the tie fighter. Capturing subtle characteristics to perfectly complement each vehicle is the heart of what we do.
Utilizing the latest in 3D scanning technology, we create an extremely accurate 1:1 scale model of the vehicle. This is the first step in reverse engineering an exact fit for our custom parts.
Next, we create design sketches. Once the initial idea is on paper, we experiment with variations before choosing the best one and refining it. The golden ratio ensures the proportions are visually balanced.
CAD software allows us to turn a paper design sketch into a 3D model. This 3D model, used in conjunction with the 3D scan of the vehicle, allows us to check fitment and ensure the overall design is as desired.
Once the 3D model is optimized, we create a prototype of the part using a 3D printer and ensure fitment by testing it on the vehicle. Nothing is left to chance.
Once the prototype is approved, the design is sent to production. The final product enhances the look of the vehicle yet looks natural: a perfect fit.
